Mr. Zechariah Carr Etheridge born January 1, 1994 is a son of Darren & Traci Carr Etheridge & grandson of that well known former Mayor of Morven NC, the honorable Theodore Roosevelt Carr, Jr. who passed away on October 4, 2023. These distinguished families (Carr & Etheridge) moved to Morven NC in the mid-1980’s. He attended school in Morven & I would guess that he graduated from Anson High School in 2011.

At the age of 15, Zechariah’s first job was at Little Park in Wadesboro, where he bagged trash, cleaned the restrooms, working the pool, checked families in for sporting events & doing all these chores taught him how important community spaces are to the residents of the area.

Zechariah continued his education at University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2011 & graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) & Sociology & African American Studies. In 2019 Mr. Etheridge was enrolled at Elon University School of Law where he graduated in 2021 with a Juris Law degree. As of 2026, he has been practicing law for 3 years.

Why did Zechariah Etheridge become a lawyer? He enjoys making complicated concepts, easy to understand. Many bad situations (insolvency, criminal & civil violations) are more or less avoidable with the right knowledge & guidance.

Best advice was from his grandfather, Theordore Carr II, which was “Attitude Determine Altitude.” Mr. Etheridge’s best advice; “Take risks to become someone you are proud of & live a life you enjoy.” “Tomorrow isn’t promised & a life of regrets is worse than 1,000 failures.” “Have a reasonable backup plan that you can be comfortable with, if plan A does not fully pan out.”

2026 Work-Life Plan – More speaking engagements for small business owners on contracts & loan documents, so they do not have to come visit with me for a bankruptcy consultation later.

My biggest risk was when I failed my first attempt at taking the bar exam. A job offer at my first law firm, influenced me & my wife to move to Raleigh NC even though I did not know if I would pass on my second attempt at the bar exam, fully aware that I might lose the law firm job, but it all worked out & thankful to my wife for the courage to make that move.

Grateful for my wife, Kendall Etheridge & our cat, Clover & our dogs, Lavendar & Willow.
