Plot:

The Trellan Empire has ruled for eons. It's arms of influence ever growing, ever reaching as its spread its message of unity and power from rim world to rim world. Peace and prosperity has always blossomed underneath its feet, the rays of an emanating harnessed sun nourishing it for years to come.

The Onikar belt is yet to feel the warmth of these rays. It's dark desolate planets hide resources aplenty within them, but with no one to chisel them into the light they remain cast out, unused, forlorn. Lost in shadow, but not for much longer. The empire has sent its arks of lights with a single message: Liberate With The Light.

Princess prime of the empire sits on one of these ships. Her time has come to serve just as her lineage has served prior and will serve after. She has been raised right hand to the empire, the successor to the throne. She has been taught the virtues. She has taken the vows. She knows her part. She is far from home.

The ship doctor is not. She comes from these rim worlds. An orphan adrift. A child flung into the hands of light. A woman born from ashes that the empire once tried to snuff her under. She feels her home. She feels the loss. She knows the truth.

The 1766th conquest of the empire is about to begin. But will it end as it always has?
