Constant crashes
CachyOS randomly crashing/locking up across different applications and display sessions
I'm on a laptop with an i5-10300H + GTX 1650 Ti, dual monitors (internal eDP + external DP).
CachyOS initially worked great and actually gave me better gaming performance/lower temps than Windows. But then GTA V started hard-freezing the entire OS. I tried different Proton versions, including Experimental and GE-Proton 10.
Then the problems started happening outside GTA:
Internal laptop display randomly turns completely red.
Desktop can freeze while the mouse still moves between both displays, but nothing responds.
Roblox/Sober froze the desktop when I tried logging in.
Wayland became unstable.
Tried X11; initially had display-layout issues, then got it working, but later X11 produced black/blue screens too.
Eventually CachyOS started failing to reach the login screen properly, sometimes freezing on a very faint login screen.
Now just black screens on boot up with nothing on it.
nvidia-smi works and detects the NVIDIA GPU.
Kernel log grep for NVIDIA/Xid/DRM/i915 didn't show anything obvious.
Windows on the same laptop doesn't have these crashes.
At this point I'm completely confused. Is there something obvious I'm missing with the NVIDIA/Intel hybrid graphics, Wayland/X11, kernel, or firmware?
