Not to be a doomer, but going public EA is going to doom this game
I played about an hour of this playtest, and that was about all I could stomach, despite being really excited about being invited. Online sentiment towards early access games has only gone down over the years. When I played the playtest, I thought to myself "this has a lot of potential after some years of dev time and overhauls"
only to find out it is going live next Tuesday?
Gamers don't waste a lot time on "potential" if what's being shown to them is hardly coherent enough to enjoy. The whole game feels floaty in just about every aspect. I know the devs have worked hard and have big ambitions for this game, but if this launch is out of desperation, I feel like it's fate is already sealed.
MMO's have become a fairly saturated market. Even with new games that bring "potential" still failing to stand a chance at being sustainable.
“Our current goal is to remain in Early Access for at least 6 months. Player feedback will help shape our 1.0 release plans."
The game has been in development for roughly 7 years (I believe. could be off on that number) and it really doesn't show that in it's gameplay. I fail to see another 6-12 months making it ready for EA, let alone 1.0
I hope they can pull it off, truly. But nothing about this sounds good.
Best of luck
