PSA: Think twice before submitting your pet’s photo to The Paw Print :(

DOG

I wanted to share my experience because I wish I had looked into The Paw Print more before submitting my dog’s picture.

I submitted a photo of my dog and was told she was selected for their calendar. I was excited at first, but I ultimately decided not to purchase the calendar.

Recently, I received another email saying Franki was selected for one of their puzzles. The “thank you” was a private discount code to purchase the puzzle.

I contacted them and asked if they would consider sending me one of the products as a goodwill gesture. She is 10 and currently battling lymphoma, so having something with her picture on it has a lot of sentimental meaning to me. We rescued her at 2 months and she’s our baby. I explained that I wasn't asking them to pay for her treatment, just hoping they might give me one keepsake.
They initially sent me to their charity-care program, which wasn't what I was asking for. After I clarified, they escalated the request to a human.
The human response was that they couldn't provide a complimentary calendar or puzzle, but they could give me another 25% discount to purchase one.
I understand that their terms allow them to use submitted photos, so I'm not claiming they stole my dog's picture or that they legally owe me anything.
But honestly, the experience left me feeling pretty gross about the whole thing.

Their website also talks about purchases helping dogs and cats in need. I'm glad if they're genuinely supporting animals through their charitable work. But when I have a sick dog who was selected for TWO of their products, I had hoped they might be willing to make one small gesture and send me a keepsake.
Instead, I was offered another discount to spend money with them.
So I won't be buying either product, and I regret submitting her photo in the first place.

If you've submitted your pet's photo to The Paw Print, I'd love to hear what your experience was. Were you also selected for multiple products? Did you receive anything, or were you offered discounts to purchase them?
