Question for those on Baclofen
Heya! I’m working with my doctor (PCP) to find the right dose of baclofen to help me sleep after failing oxybates. My sleep doctor declined to prescribe citing too little data in support but my PCP has been willing to work with me even though he has never prescribed baclofen for narcolepsy before. I am currently up to 20 mg at night, and the next increase is to 25 mg, but this is what my doctor said about that:
“We'll need to break it up into divided doses. Does it make you sleepy? Can you take another small 5 mg dose in the morning? The FDA maximum is 80 mg daily, but 20 mg max for each dose.”
It looks like from the couple of studies on it, that people took 30-50 mg baclofen in one dose at night… Obviously I’m not interested in taking an extra 5 mg in the morning because it won’t help me sleep. Anyone been here? How did you navigate it with your doctor? What did you learn?
Thanks so much for the advice. This sub has been so invaluable in my diagnosis and treatment journey.
