Beware of sex scam , STI guys from dating app (hinge ,bumble , tinder )

warning about dating on Hinge Singapore — please protect yourself

I’m sharing this because I think people using dating apps, especially Hinge , should be careful and take their sexual health seriously.

I met a guy through Hinge in Singapore(the time I met the guy was around August 2025) and we started dating. Things seemed normal at first, and eventually we became sexually involved. We were seeing each other for around 6 months.

During that time, we had some arguments and eventually he asked for breakup . I wasn’t comfortable with that, so I decided to end the relationship.

About half a year later, one of my friend who ‘s been worked as a colleague before with this guy , told me that my ex / (the boy before I dated) had contracted an STI.

What concerned me was that, despite knowing about his STI, he was still actively dating and seeing multiple girls.

I’m not posting this to shame anyone for having an STI. STIs can happen to anyone, and having one does not make someone a bad person. The issue for me is whether people are being honest with their sexual partners and giving them the information they need to make informed decisions.

If you’re meeting people through Hinge or other dating apps, please don’t assume that someone is safe just because they seem nice, educated, attractive, or trustworthy.

Please:

• Have honest conversations about sexual health before having sex.
• Use protection, especially with new partners.
• Get tested regularly if you’re sexually active.
• Don’t be afraid to ask someone about recent STI testing.
• Remember that someone can have an STI without obvious symptoms.

I’m sharing my experience because I would hate for someone else to find themselves in a situation where they were not given important information about their partner’s sexual health.

Please protect yourselves. Dating apps can connect you with wonderful people, but you still need to protect your own health and boundaries.
