unequally yoked
Hey so im a 21 yo woman, and to be honest, I’m pretty fed up with the whole dating scene. It literally always ends up being an unequally yoked relationship. I live in Mexico, so cultural Catholicism is very common here: people who are baptized and tell me they’re Catholic just because they were baptized, but then when you actually talk to them, they turn out to be the biggest heretics I’ve ever met, sometimes even worse than the previous guy. I’m Catholic by birth, I was raised Catholic, and I’m Catholic by conviction, and I have a huge fascination with theology. I’ve been wondering if maybe the gift I was given through this fascination, along with all these “failures,” is Jesus’ way of telling me that maybe my dream of having a family isn’t the path I’m meant to take. Religious life seems beautiful to me. I would love to have a family, but honestly, I’m getting tired of dealing with men like this. Some of them even say they’re Catholic just to get me to like them, only for me to find out that they left the faith a long time ago, or they pull the whole “I believe in God, but not in the Church” thing, and stuff like that. Do you think this is a sign that I should pursue religious life?
