Xiaomi is preparing to roll out its next-generation HyperOS 4 update, with the Redmi K100 Pro series expected to be among the first devices to receive the stable version, according to Redmi product manager Hu Xinxin.

The announcement comes shortly after Xiaomi began its initial HyperOS 4 Beta recruitment, covering flagship models such as the Xiaomi 17 and Redmi K90 series. The new software introduces a refreshed visual experience, including a “soft light glass” interface material and new interactive lighting effects.

However, these advanced visual features will depend on device hardware. Xiaomi says they require Snapdragon 8 Elite or newer, MediaTek Dimensity 9500 or above, or XRING O1 3nm flagship processors and newer. Older or less powerful devices may not support the full range of HyperOS 4 visual effects because of performance limitations.

Meanwhile, references to an unknown Xiaomi foldable device have reportedly appeared in HyperOS 4 Beta descriptions, potentially hinting at the upcoming MIX Fold 5. Xiaomi Vice President Lu Weibing has also confirmed that the company will not hold a separate launch event for HyperOS 4, with beta testing beginning quietly on August 13.

For now, Xiaomi has not revealed the complete stable rollout schedule for other devices. The company appears to be taking a phased approach, prioritizing flagship and high-end devices in China, with the Redmi K100 Pro series expected to be among the early recipients.
