19F, seeing two images next to each other. Time for check up or fix at home?

For probably a year now I've noticed that I often see two images next to each other. Sometimes this doesn't bother me that much, but in places such as the cinema or the train station, it gets bothersome because it's really obvious. I can't really watch a movie anymore because it just looks off, especially if I'm sitting further away and watching on a big screen. My current prescription is about -6 with an astigmatism of around -1.5 in both eyes. It's been a year or two since I've had a check up.

Is it time to get this checked out, or is there something I can do at home to try and fix this to avoid the high costs?
