Switching from engineering to optometry

Hi, I’m a computer engineering student at Polytechnique Montréal, and I’m considering switching to the optometry program at UdeM. I’ve already completed three semesters (43 credits) and have a GPA of 3.36/4. I realize my GPA probably isn’t high enough and my Cégep R-score was 29.5, which is below the average R-score of admitted students. I know the R-score is still taken into account, but I’m not sure to what extent. Anyway, I was wondering if transferring to optometry is a possibility and if you guys have any advice on how to go about it. Thanks a lot!
