Can a GTX 1070 do 1440p?

I am upgrading from 1080p to 1440p, I am planning on upgrading to the 1070 because it has more VRAM than my current card, and I want a card that is very cheap (around £80 or less). Is this a good choice?

Here are my current specs:

Motherboard: Gigabyte B760M D3HP DDR4

RAM: 16GB DDR4 2666mhz

PSU: MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5

CPU: i3 12100F

GPU: GTX 1650 4GB GDDR5

Storage: 128GB SATA SSD, 1TB HDD
