Help with Cycling Tank

Brand new to all things fishy, we are currently setting up a tank for a Betta. We bought a 5 gallon tank 7 days ago. It appears to be ready but I feel like we must be missing something as it’s so soon. Here’s what we’ve done:

- added conditioner to the water
- ran initial freshwater master tests with ideal results
- maintained 78-80 degrees temperature
- used the freshwater master test kit to test 2 days after adding 10ish granules of Fluval bug bites betta formula. Tests all came back in the ideal range

My daughter thinks the tank is ready for a fish but from what I’ve read it should take much longer to cycle. What are we missing? Any tips are greatly appreciated!
