What Would Happen to Anti-Slavery Activists in the Roman Empire?

If a minority religious or philosophical group had openly opposed slavery in the Roman Empire, what would likely have happened if they:

- encouraged enslaved people to run away;

- publicly protested or campaigned against slavery;

- persuaded slaveholders to liberate their slaves;

- sheltered escaped slaves;

- or argued that slavery was morally wrong and should be abolished?
