Soreness and popping in anterior shoulder

Hi,

in the last couple of weeks I experienced shoulder popping when internally rotation my right shoulder. Examples:

  • Doing shoulder circles (lifting the shoulders in different directions)
  • Moving the hand behind my back and internally rotating
  • Using my arms to prop myself up when I'm lying down or sitting in a "shrimp-like" position

I feel like the popping comes from somewhere around the coracoid process but I could not figure it out after consulting anatomy references. I don't know which muscles or tendon here could move over bony protrusions to produce that sound.

Additionally, the right shoulder feels sore in the front where the hump of the humerus can be felt when rotating the arm. This is more recent than the popping.

Further details: side sleeper (typically on the left side), age = 37, weight = 102 kg, height = 1.81 m, office worker

What could cause the popping? I'm not sure if the soreness is related. I suppose this could be from doing dips?
