Advice for new collector

Hello! I’m an avid collector of the GI Joe classified series, but never moved into transformers. I still have my original Optimus Prime, Grimlock, and Omega Supreme from my childhood. I’d like to buy a small handful of newer release Transformers, but there are so many variants it’s hard to know where to start. I plan to do roughly 10 max from each side… maybe doing 2 of each to display in both forms. Original series core characters… maybe a few from the 1986 movie. What do you recommend? Looks like the Studio 86 series gets top reviews, but given my smaller collection objective, I’m not sure if I should consider other variants or a different size. Thanks!
