Is the snake presence at Black’s higher than usual lately?

Has anyone else noticed a crazy amount of snakes at Black’s lately? Every time I've gone over the last few months, I’ve nearly stepped on one. No rattle or sound at all, just right there on the path ahead of me.

Taking a break for a bit because my heart can't take it anymore. Is this just peak rattlesnake season or is the population just unusually high right now?
