advice needed after results day
for context: so results day happened today. i wasn’t originally a medicine applicant (applied to pharmacy in september) but was always moving between the two. i sat my ucat last year and got 2100 B3, which i was happy with but ended up applying to pharmacy anyways due to my low predicted grades (ABB)
today i achieved AAB (A in econ, A in chem, B in bio). i’m a few marks off of an A* in econ, which i plan to get remarked, i’m happy with chem, but bio is the real issue.
it’s very disheartening to me because ucl & maybe imperial (?) were my dream med unis, however neither of them accept resits unless you have mitigating circumstances (which i’m sure i do as unfortunately lots of personal and family issues arose during exam season)
im not sure what to do now, i honestly feel really tired and hopeless. is it worth resitting biology and redoing my ucat? and does anyone know someone who resat and applied with mitigating circumstances and got in into imperial or ucl?
any advice is appreciated, even if it’s just a simple yes or no to any of the above
good luck to the year 12s on this subreddit, and congrats to the year 13s / gap year students who made it into medicine today
