How should I approach walks with a 4-month-old puppy?

My Golden Retriever is 4 months old and only started going on walks this Monday after finishing his vaccinations.

I’ve already been working on basic obedience and loose-leash walking inside the house, but outside everything is completely new to him.

How long should I focus mainly on letting him explore and get comfortable outside before expecting much obedience during walks?
