Advice on gift idea?

Backstory: Theres a girl who I’ve been talking to that I really like (she likes me too) I really wanna date her however she got out of an extremely toxic relationship and I’m starting not ready to date anyone yet as I’m not over my ex. (she knows this)
Shes been at a camp for 3 months with no cell service so we haven’t been able to text and in those 3 months I’ve realized how much I truly like her. I think about her constantly, dream about us hanging out again, and us growing old together.

Gift: Would it be weird if I got her a “promise ring”? Not a ring to promise to marry her and a promise that I will stay by her side until both her and I are ready to date. I’m afraid it would give off the message of me trying to “claim her” or something along those lines.

TLDR: Would it be weird to get a girl a promise ring that promises her that I will wait till both her and I are ready to date?
