Midnight Meal
I know I shouldn’t eat in bed
But I feast on the existential dread
I desperately need a palate cleanser
So I search my feed compulsively
Trust funders enjoying Southampton summers
Dim-lit dinner tables set for two
In a white coat, she proves what she can do
Frat brothers taking mud baths in Jordan
Crushes pose, freshly pumped, for chest-day photos
I don’t want to see where they summer
Can’t handle another soft-launch of lovers
How many iterations of congratulations does the valedictorian need?
Wish I could float effortlessly in the Dead Sea
Can I be the gym lighting that contours your body just right?
How can I make this hunger subside?
I may be a beast but they feast while I famine
I need to eat, I need to examine
I can eat in the dark, but I’ll try
To close my eyes and wait for the breakfast bell
