Wanna know what hobby to try? Do this!

I see endless posts here about hobbies, finding one, needing one, etc.

I felt the same about a year ago.

A trick, and maybe it doesn't work for everyone but it's absolutely worth a shot, I learned was

"what did you do during the summers as a kid? did you ride bikes, explore the woods, read and write, make art, etc?"

Once you think of that, you have a clue of what you liked before you were told it was childlike or dumb or uncool. Go back to that and give it another shot. As a kid, you did it because it made you feel more alive or happy or excited. I'm sure if you give a couple things from when you were a kid a shot, one of them will give you that feeling.

From there you can "specialize" if something sounds even cooler. You liked sculpting as a kid? Get back into it with clay, and then look at some silver clay or a pottery studio! You liked riding bikes as a kid? Get a good enough bike from craigslist, and then if it sticks join a bike club!

Keep trying that until something sparks a little bit. Follow that breadcrumb to something really life-giving for you. It does take some introspection, but that's what hobbies are for! Time for us to be with ourselves :)
