Spotify added AI tags...BUT

Spotify finally added AI tags but what does it actually mean for small artists:

• Tags are self declared via Spotify for Artists: making it a good start but pretty useless tbh as most people will not add the tags even when they have AI music!
• They have said they won't allow AI tagged music on algorithmic playlists. In theory it's good news but if it's only from self declared tags, then surely this means all the people who didn't self declare will still get put on those playlists.

I feel it's a pretty weak step from Spotify marketed as a big move. They really need to add the option for users to toggle all AI songs off + run AI detection to auto tag songs where the detection has undeniable confidence!

Lets see if every human artist notices a boost in algorithmic listeners. I haven't seen any difference at the time of this post!

Did I miss something? 😅
