Birding in Northern NM suggestions

I'll be visiting my family in the Glorieta/Pecos area the second week of September. NM is my childhood home but this will be my first time going back with both the time and intention to do some real birding so I'm unfamiliar with the best locations!

I don't know if I will make it south far enough for Bosque del Apache but my last time there was also early Sept and it was a bit quiet so I'll probably skip it in favor of Las Vegas NWR, but other than that I have a whole week to fill. Probably will not travel further south than ABQ.

Would love to hear from locals of places that might be memorable but not necessarily show up bright red on ebird. ❤️
