36+4 week released from NICU last week due to blood sugar issue - feeding frustration
Hello just looking for some advice.
Our baby is now 27 days old and we just got released from the NICU 6 days ago. She recently has had some weird eating patterns and I’m not sure what to do. When we were released they wanted us to promise to feed her every 3 hours. We were to start with 55ml and let her take as much as she wanted up to 64ml. It started alright some bumps but she has been taking her bottles. Then it felt like she kept wanting more so we upped it a bit to 68-70ml. Then last night she was going nuts like she wanted more so one feed we topped up with another 15-20. She definitely got a little over tired after my fiancé was feeding her later in the night and it was real slow then wouldn’t fall asleep. Now her last few she’s kind of struggled to get the normal 60ish down. And this current feed she only took 30 before basically falling asleep. We’ve been trying different nipples levels because she was dripping so much on a level 1 dr browns. But at the hospital they said this was the closest to what we used in the hospital. The preemie almost definitely seems too slow but gives no dribble. The transitional she dribbles just as much as the level 1 it seems. I left the hospital feeling confident feeding her and now I feel like im lost. Any advice?
Oh and we’ve had issues getting a pediatrician. We had to go to the hospital we were at over an hour away for the initial follow up. We got a referral to one close but they said it would take 1-2 weeks to triage.
