Am i strong enough to be an RPN/RN
i wasted 4 years doing a BA in psychology thinking that I wanted to be a lawyer or something. I really want a role where i can be directly caring for kids, maybe a pediatric nurse or psych nurse. i am trying to desensitize myself to blood draws and iv insertion but i just cant even think about NG tubes or foley insertion without getting squirmy. I know I would be fine doing IVs or injections but the fact that i cant think about stuff like NG tubes or seeing someones limb fall off make me think that I shouldn’t even consider nursing. Im worried ill encounter those things through clinical or being floated even though i dont intend to work in ER/ICU. Like im worried that im being too limited with what kind of nurse i can handle being and i need a reality check from actual nurses. Thanks
