Do I need a car in Mykonos for last minute travel?

Going to a wedding next week and staying at the Royal Myconian. Its a 5 day thing with multiple events a day. My family and I wanted to also explore Mykonos in between events; however we are not sure if we need to rent a car to be able to explore other areas of Mykonos, or if getting a taxi or ride is easy enough to do.
