How does one cultivate wood path?

I read on here that among the five mainstream elemental paths that wood path is probably the best for slow but certain progress and that it's pretty lucrative money wise however I still don't understand how one cultivates wood path? Could anyone explain for me I'm thinking of writing a fanfic in the future.

Like do you just study plants and grow wood path materials how would it aid in cultivation?
