I feel like I haven't given it a fair shot

Hey all, decided to try RS3 during the League to get a taste of it and see how I like it. Kinda bouncing off, but I also don't really have any kind of direction, so thought I would ask here for advice.

What would you recommend as something to aim for to get a feel for how RS3 handles good quests and pvm during the league? I've enjoyed the skilling so far, but haven't found anything super interesting and I've heard that quest writing is supposed to be pretty good. I haven't really heard of any standout bosses except maybe Kalphite King? Any recommendations would be appreciated.
