How do i get a bird to move out of my yard?

question

Its a robin. A very particular and ornery one. Early this summer it decided to build a nest on top of the motion light by my side door. Things were fine with my squatter at first, he did his bird things, i did mine, and i was secretly hoping i would form some kind of relationship with it, like a crow thing.

Then like 2 weeks later it got real territorial around its nest. Walking out the side door was out of the question, but even just being in the yard going to my shed would get a stern look from it and a few swoops.

I did my bird research and found this was behavior if it had laid eggs, which indeed it had. I'm not heartless so just put up with it for the last month and a half.

Anyway, the nest has been vacant for like a week, which was what everything told me would happen, and i got excited at the prospect of taking it down and going on with life.

BUT THE DAMN BIRD HAS NOW BUILT A NEST ON A LIGHT BY THE OTHER DOOR. So now my front door is under seige, its first victim my mailman an hour ago.

How do i get this squatter to move on and stop molesting our civil servants? Even better i have to get up on like a 20 foot ladder, while under attack, to get near the new nest if i want to do anything about it.
