Help with a friend:)

Hi! I am not goth but I didn’t know where else to go to ask for an opinion and advice.

I had another woman friend who I suppose you could call a work friend! She is goth/alt and despite me not being goth, we really got along! She came to all my events and hang outs, met my boyfriend and just seemed to really appreciate being friends with me. I met all of her friends and they are all some subculture of alternative:)

Anyway, she’s been setting up to change jobs for a while and follow her passion in tattooing, ever since she told me she’s started to kind of distance herself. Like always tell me she’s too busy to hang out or come to our monthly games nights anymore.

I am left wondering why and I’ve wondered if it’s because now that we will no longer be working together she would rather not be friends with me because I am not a goth.

I guess what I’m asking is if this normal, do other goths or alternative people prefer to be friends with people similar to them, do you guys have ‘normie’ friends lol.

Just to preface I am totally okay if she would just prefer not to be my friend because she just saw us as work friends and she feels more comfortable in her own circles! I’m just curious if I’m along the right lines of why she doesn’t seem to want to be friends anymore.
