Today marks six months since I bought my Honor Magic 8 Pro, the EU version. I paid €750 for it brand new at the time. Right now, used ones in my country are selling for around €700, so I’ve barely lost any money on it over these six months.

The phone is incredibly good. I bought it after using the S23 Ultra, which for me is the best phone ever made, almost perfect, so I had very high expectations for the Honor. And it absolutely met them. I honestly can’t think of a single thing that really bothers me about it. For a short period, I also used the S26 Ultra, but I still preferred this one, so I decided to keep it. Everything works really well. Updates are less frequent than on Samsung phones, but there have still been quite a few so far.

The battery might actually be my favorite thing about this phone. Bluetooth and mobile data are turned on about 95% of the time, and I also use the hotspot very often. Despite that, it still lasts almost the entire day, which is honestly impressive.

I use it without a case and without a screen protector. I accidentally damaged the factory screen protector, so I had to remove it, but I refuse to use a case because the phone feels way too good in the hand. I haven’t dropped it even once, and I haven’t noticed a single scratch on it either.

Overall, I can definitely recommend this phone. Of course, it has its flaws, but nothing major. Every phone has its strengths and weaknesses, it really just depends on what you personally need from a phone.
