is this retirement strategy enough, and how to allocate money over the next 25 years?
im planning a retirement strategy w/ a 25-year horizon, aiming to retire around age 60. im considering this monthly allocation:
-employer-funded retirement account: employer contributions for 25 years (automatically deducted from salary)
-global etfs: ₱30,000/month
-pagibig MP2: ₱6,000/month
-sss: ₱1,200/month
-remaining surplus: kept as liquid cash/savings
im deliberately keeping the etf contribution relatively low because i want to maintain liquidity rather than investing every available money.
the goal is to have enough retirement income/assets to live comfortably at 60.
wuld you structure this differently?
would you:
a. keep more money in cash for flexibility
b. increase global etf contributions to ₱50k–₱60k/month
c. keep the diversification between employer-funded account + etf + mp2 + sss
E) drop mp2/sss and focus mainly on employer-funded account + global ETFs
im particularly interested in opinions on whether maintaining a large liquid cash reserve is worth the opportunity cost of investing more aggressively.
