Respectfully, can people stop asking for money?

I know some people have the hope that there's gonna be some good samaritan out there who saw their post and is kind enough to pay for a skin they want, even if they've been maining X since day one, they're their favorite character, etc. Maybe this is just a me thing. It's kind of tiring to see, and plus I'm not even sure if that works at all because when people post like that in Times Square or other character main subreddits, they just get clowned on.

I pay for my own skins with my own job-earned money, but I get that some people are in difficult situations. I want to make it clear that I'm NOT saying "lol skill issue, I can afford this and you can't", but is it that wrong of me to think that if you're having financial difficulties, maybe your money should be going somewhere else besides skins for a video game character?
