At the end of the day, the Tannies are still MEN
Just saw the whole fiasco with CB and Usher together with RM and Hobi. When I saw the story, I just thought "Yikes." and then there was the post - "BIG YIKES". It sucks, it's disappointing.
Reading through the whole discourse on it, a lot of people want to drop supporting the boys over this. And then there are people who are protecting the guys saying that it's not that deep or not a big deal. Honestly, it IS a big deal considering that even me who doesn't read into any celebrity news, much less Western celebrity news, knows what these men have done.
As a woman, it's appalling to have the boys interact and even support these problematic men. I've side-eyed the times they'd use Drake music in their posts or even post about them listening to it. I've side-eyed the times they were all buddy buddy with Usher, especially now with the recent updates they have with Chris Brown.
Will I stop supporting them? No. Am I utterly disappointed? Yes. I keep reminding myself that BTS themselves are still MEN. And lol, men do stupid, disappointing shit all the time.
This however, could be a good learning moment for both BTS and ARMY. Healthy discourse is needed. Everyone makes mistakes, and who are we to tell these grown men what to do or who to support. I don't think they should be hated for this, but they should be educated and fans should allow themselves to express disappointment.
No one in this world is going to be an all perfect, clean, woke person 24/7. We're all bound to fuck up, a lot. BTS is no exception. Call these men out, but don't demonize them.
