Stuck in a Rut

Hello. I am stuck in a horrible rut. I attended such and such university and when I graduated back in 2011, I tried to further my education. I soon found out that I couldn’t transfer out and go to another university. I could only do classes there. As expensive as they are, I decided that if it’s for my future, why not. I did my Bachelor’s and when I was about to graduate, the school wouldn’t let me graduate. I kept repeating the last class like 3 times. The teacher wouldn’t help me nor did their free tutoring services. I even paid for outside tutoring, nothing helped. I filled out a Borrower’s to Defense and got my Federal Loans cancelled for my Associate and my Bachelors. All that time wasted. I was even on the Dean’s list. Now, my private loan servicer is not working with me. I have a part time job. I was laid off in 9/2025 from my 8 year job. I’ve paid since 2011 and I have yet to see my balance drop. Only increase. Am I doing something wrong?

I tried reaching out to refinance my private loans but I feel like the company is iffy at best. I don’t know what to do.

I owe $41,000.

Any ideas??
