Opting for c-section over induction

Hospital/Midwife/Scan Advice

Currently 38 weeks so not having to make a decision yet, but from early on I was sure that if I didn’t go into labour spontaneously, I would opt
for c-section over an induction for many reasons.

I asked the midwife about how I would go about this if I go over, and she suggested that I would need to book in for an induction, go to the induction appointment and say that I actually want a c-section, where they would then book me into the next available slot.

Surely there is a way that wastes less times for everyone? Interested to know if this method is used elsewhere?
