Sony WH-1000XM6 vs Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, need advice

Discussion

Deciding between a WH-1000XM6 for 250€ and Buds 4 Pro for 220€. Use case: long listening sessions, several hours at a time.

From what I've read, WH-1000XM6 wins on ANC, mid-frequency noise like office chatter and AC hum gets handled better than most systems, and over-ear generally beats in-ear on comfort for long sessions since the seal covers the whole ear.

Concern is the hinge/ring cracking issue that carried over from the XM5. Reports of the plastic ring above the hinge cracking after extended use, no official replacement parts from Sony, and some warranty claims getting denied as accidental damage. XM6 has a metal piece added to the hinge that might help but it's unconfirmed long-term.

Buds 4 Pro has no comparable defect pattern but weaker ANC and worse for hours-long wear.

At 250€ the WH price is decent if genuine, but only makes sense with a seller who allows returns given the hinge risk.

Anyone running an XM6 daily for long sessions, has the hinge held up for you? Worth the risk over the Buds 4 Pro at this price gap?
