Many men seem to care about misogyny significantly more than many women care about misandry
If you ask the average man what he thinks about casual misogyny, sexual harassment, or unequal treatment of women, he will disavow it without hesitation. Men are socialized from day one to protect, respect, and defer to the women in their lives. When a guy disrespects a woman, other men don't applaud him, they feel secondhand embarrassment, disgust, or step in to shut it down.
Meanwhile, casual misandry is actively normalized, laughed off, and treated as harmless banter by the average woman.
In modern social and professional settings, genuine misogyny gets a man ostracized, reported, or fired on the spot. Men are held under a microscope and forced to audit their own language constantly. Conversely, jokes about male emotional repression, taking pride in being "man haters" or broadly declaring men are trash are routinely posted, liked, and shared by everyday women without a second thought. If a man calls it out, he's instantly labeled "fragile" or told to man up.
The default excuse is that misandry doesn't matter because "men hold structural power". But interpersonally, disrespect is disrespect. Using political theory to validate treating individual men like disposable garbage isn't punching up. It's only used as an excuse for hypocrisy.
The average man goes out of his way to make sure the women around him feel safe and respected. The average woman rarely gives a second thought to how casual anti-male hostility impacts the men around her.
