Solo founders: where did your first 5–10 beta users actually come from?

I’m curious about the actual first users, not the polished “we launched on Product Hunt and got 500 signups” story 😂
If you’re a solo founder, where did your first 5–10 real beta users come from?

Cold outreach?

Friends / personal network?

And more importantly — what actually worked vs. what you thought would work but didn’t?
I’m currently trying to get the first real users for my SaaS and I’m realizing that finding the right people is much harder than building the product 😅
Would love to hear the unglamorous version — even if you only got 2 users from something that took 50 attempts.
