Coldcard user who just had my information leaked...
I got the email from trezor this morning and couldn't actually believe it. I now have sitting in my inbox 3 separate emails all titled with something like "security incident: your (coldcard/trezor) device". So I just had to throw out hundreds of dollars in coldcard hardware (luckily I wasn't affected by the rng bug and my stash was fine) and now I switch to Trezor and a criminal gang now knows where I live and has my name/number as well.
Should I just exit the crypto space? I'm seriously considering just selling everything and getting the fuck out of here. I've been affected by 2 major security incidents directly now in the span of 2 weeks. All my shit is just leaked now except my email cause I use relays. It's just total chaos and everywhere I turn I get fucked over by something. I can't trust anyone anymore. It feels like everyone's trying to fuck me over all the fucking time in this space and I just can't catch a break. It's crazy. You're seriously trying to tell me out of all the time this company has been running since 2013 I'm one of the only people that this ever happened to ever and it's right after I just got through with another major incident where I had to throw out all my old hardware?
Let them try to come to my house though. I'm in a conservative and very remote/rural US area with concealed carry and have a brand new 300 blackout rifle I'm dying to try out. Have cameras all around the house with license plate readers, facial recognition/motion following, and I'm home 24/7 since i work from home. Come on over. Town is tiny and close knit too so any car that isn't recognized in town instantly gets tons of attention and cops get called all the time on just random people minding their own business simply because they're outsiders. Good luck blending into a bunch of empty back roads with nosy as fuck neighbors everywhere with barking dogs.
