We chatted in the checkout line.
Me: new kitchen appliance.
You: travel item for an upcoming trip.
You: self-described “Black Irish” Mexican.
Me: silver-haired and petite.

I had to rush off to another event and only managed a quick wave goodbye as you were standing near a light-colored sedan.

I really enjoyed our conversation and realized afterward that I should have introduced myself—and maybe exchanged contact information.
