**Bayne Gibby, as Patricia, Pop Artist and Second Generation Li'l Debbie**

Season 5 of Hacks had an embarassment of riches when it came to memorable and impactful guest actress performances. Any one of those nominated for an emmy-- Leslie Bibb, Cherry Jones, Laurie Metcalfe, Kaitlin Olson, or Lauren Weedman -- could take home the trophy this year, and one could nod their head and say, yeah, that makes sense. This post isn't mean to take away from their contributions.

I have a feeling, though, when I look back on the last seaons of Hacks, or Hacks in general, this very possbily could be one of the first moments that comes to mind. So I wanted to give a big shout out to Bayne Gibby, as Patricia, the Little Debbie who spent many an afternoon sorting all those different kinds of macaroni with her moter to make an appreciation gift for Deborah Vance. Bayne Gibby had only a couple minutes of screentime, but in those moments she went the gamut from from light-hearted dippy and laughable to poignant and sadly touching flawlessly. Her Patricia exemplified the best of fandom, finding something out there that gave her joy and brought her and a loved one closer together. It was a peformance that was neither overstated nor understated. It was just perfect.

Recently, I've been dealing with issues of losing my own mom. Her mental health is declining more rapidly than her physical health, though now the former is affecting the latter. Event in the few short months since that episode aired, the change is profound. More often of late, I've been thinking myself of times we've shared in activities and trips that we made.

Anyway, kudos to Bayne Gibby, and to the writers and other creators of this scene (even those production design artists who made that "artwork"). Truly Hacks as its best.
