Building a game from scratch is an intense journey, but I can finally say: my first game is live!
I've always been passionate about two things: development and space. Combining these two passions into a flight simulator featuring Newtonian physics in 6 DOF (Degrees of Freedom) and precision docking was one of the greatest technical challenges I've ever faced.
To have full control over the logic, performance, and complex vector calculations, I made sure to program the core of the project using C++ alongside Unreal Engine 5.
Throughout development, I also faced the classic indie gamedev reality:
The art of scoping down to successfully deliver a polished and functional project.
To optimize the workflow and focus on what matters most, I used artificial intelligence as an ally on two fronts:
Organization and structuring: To help me plan tasks and keep the development workflow organized.
Visual assets: To generate the cover art, loading screen background, and initial splash screen.
The result is a simulator where each spacecraft features its own unique mass, docking point, and inertial behavior, demanding true piloting precision.
Please check it out, give it a try, and see if you can nail that docking maneuver! Feedback is super welcome as I continue to improve the project.
