What's the bizarre situation with the physical Switch 2 copy of remaster?

I preordered mine two weeks ago and now I'm getting an email from the local shop that it's delayed because of the official supplier issue and they are offering me a refund.
This smells more like they made 5 copies or something rather than scalpers milking it out.
