AAMC FL3 B/B Q16.
Cells that contain a large amount of phosphorylated p38 are most likely:
- A. increasing in size.
- B. replicating their DNA.
- C. dividing.
- D. undergoing growth arrest.
I got this question correct but the explanation for A being incorrect is that cell shrinkage is a hallmark of apoptosis. Is it not true that membrane blebbing is a morphological feature of apoptosis where the size of the cell increases as it swells?
If someone could explain why A cannot also be correct would be great.
