Love my job, hate my coworkers
I recently got this job in my city with the local animal shelter. I went to school for animal science and it is exactly the type of job I want and they have opportunities to move up in positions. Right now I mainly work at the front desk, answering phone calls, helping with adoption, and helping the public with animals in general. I’ve learned so much, it’s great!
However, my coworkers suck. Now I will give them some slack because we did have lots of people take a voluntary leave so the city could “save” money so we are down a few people. But they are all awful at teamwork, it’s like every man for himself. And I feel a lot of shit gets piled on to me and I literally started working here a few months ago and I do my best with the extremely limited training I got when I was first hired. And everyone is super snippy. Like I’ll ask if anyone has looked at the adoption email and I get lots of sighing and complaining. I honestly don’t care why the email wasn’t looked at, I’m asking so I don’t duplicate something that was already done. Like just say no and I’ll do it. And when I ask for help it’s a problem, I get attitude. The job itself is fine but the people I work with are making it hard to want to stay and I just got here!
I’m not sure if I should suck it up and keep going since I like the job or look for something else.
