What fish should I get?

I just got 5 gallon, I'm buying substrate and real plants, super excited! I know most people say a betta, would there be any other fish safe for a 5 gallon?

This is my first time owning a fish without being a dumb child who has no idea what they're doing and I really wanna do it right
