Has anyone actually used California’s new MyFirstEV rebate on a USED Tesla yet?

📰 News

I’m looking into buying my first EV and I’m a little confused about how the new California **MyFirstEV** rebate works for used Teslas.

The Tesla I’m considering is around **$17,000** and it’s being sold by an independent dealership in **the Bay Area** , not directly through Tesla. After taxes/fees, the out-the-door price is around **$19,000**.

I’ve read that there may be a **$1,750 instant rebate for qualifying used EVs under $25,000**, but I keep seeing wording about the vehicle needing to be sold through a “manufacturer’s pre-owned vehicle program,” which is where I’m getting confused.

Has anyone here actually used the MyFirstEV rebate yet?
Does it work on a used Tesla purchased from **any licensed dealership**, or does the vehicle specifically need to be purchased directly through Tesla’s used inventory/pre-owned program?

If you used it already, was the $1,750 taken directly off the purchase price at the dealership before financing?
I’ve asked the dealer and they’re checking on it too, but I’d love to hear from anyone who has actually gone through the process or knows exactly how the used-car eligibility works. Thanks!
