(r/Avengers) Spider-Man in the New Avengers?

It’s weird to me that Spidey isn’t involved with the New Avengers at all. He was a member of the original team around the time Thanos happened and everyone returned from the Blip.

I’ve expressed this to some friends, and they think Spider-Man is a “small potatoes” superhero, and never belonged on the team in the first place. Are we forgetting that he tanked a round from an anti-material rifle?? Sure, he was in the hospital for a bit, but he’s back out there, fighting crime like nothing happened. If people like Yelena Belova, who isn’t even an enhanced individual, or John Walker, who has the super soldier serum but nothing else, can be on the team, surely there’s a spot for someone with Spidey’s skill set.

I am thinking of starting a petition for this. I just can’t help but feel like he would do so many amazing things as a New Avenger! What do you folks think?
